Hi All,

The trip for this week has kindly been arranged by Marc and is as follows:

Trip: O.D.B. - Minera Mountain

Trip Type: General mooch led by North Wales Caving Club as not well trodden by UCET

Meet Point: The Moors Inn at Bwlchgwyn

Meet time: 18.30

Notes: Apparently a straight forward trip with a ladder to enter/exit. Cows tails can be taken if you want.

It is a requirement that all cavers have BCA insurance.

I have a Large Warmbac Fleece under-suit for sale, bought it off ebay a while ago, but it's a bit on the snug side for me. It's almost brand new.

One piece stretch undersuit, warm and lightweight, tailored for maximum freedom. 2-way zip, diamond crotch, pocket, neoprene cuffs, double thickness at knees.

I paid £30 for it (cost £50+ new) so offers around that would be good. Need to sell it soon so if no offers it's going back on ebay.

With the advent of Digital cameras, a phenomena has appeared, theyre called Orbs and Rods.

I was made up to hear of Marc's recent success at getting through to the far end of OHA with some guys from NWCC. And they've left it all rigged :-)

After getting through to Sump 1 a few weeks ago, I was gutted because i was working and couldn't do the last trip.

Does anyone fancy a trip through with me on Sat, 14st August? Bear in mind that it'll be a true epic - expect a full day (and more!).

Early start i.e. 6 or 7am at Cilcain bridge. - The earlier the better really.

OHA Sumps and Beyond Pushing Trip 25th July 2010 - (turn over now if you don't want to see the scores)

Someone asked for a trip report on this, so here it is. I know in the end this was mainly a NWCC trip but UCET were invited but dropped out last minute,- and I'm a member of both clubs anyway so here it is:

A team consisting of Mike K, Alan and Myself met at the bridge in Cilcain at 9:30am. Once we were all fully kitted and SRT ready we took the usual walk to the OHA lid, and at about ...

Alderly edge Copper mine 18th Jul

D Thompson.

I had heard a lot about Alderly edge copper mine over the years so I had been looking forward to this trip, for a while, I was not to be disappointed.

Ian had kindly offered to drive, so I was waiting outside my house at 7.40 all excited, with my kit in a Bernies bag, ready to go.

I was a little early, so I decided to walk up the lane to the corner, this would save Ian having to drive down my lane, however, halfway up the lane I realised that ...

Spain has got very very good defence. As long as they keep Robben and Van Percy at bay, they won half the battle.

I want spain to win coz, they look like a complete team, but on the other hand, NL have been way good this year, specially after not having any internal fueds this time round.

@Shazam, flushes for David Villa !!!! Not a bad choice. He seem to be natual goal poacher.

After (maybe) two miles you will need to abandon the car and continue on foot to the quarry which is large and obvious to see.

What is a cave.

What is a cave

A cave is just space, where the rock used to be.

until water dissolved it away, to the sea.

While the water erodes it, and eats it away.

The cave just gets bigger, and bigger, each day.

How "can" this be so, I can hear people say.

How can something get "bigger" as it's eaten away.

I know it seems odd, and a little unfair.

But a cave, is a cave, just because it's not "there".
