A Leicia Disto A3 and a DistoX upgrade card. Now need a cave proof Bluetooth PDA and i'm sorted for a spot of digital cave survey/mapping!

For any (other) geeks out there...........this is it.....

Please do not inform the missus that i've splashed out £380 on it up to now and still need to get a PDA! I suspect that i might have my purchasing priorities a little wrong - i've still not got my own set of cowstails yet!

Yer no problem. The upgrade boards are currently out of production (the guy that make them is currently having supply problems with one of the components). I managed to get hold ofb the last one adfter nagging him for ages! He is intending making more as soon as possible though.

Also the A3 is out of production now - they are cropping up on ebay though.

ukclimbing.com has loads of DistoX info undr the surveying topic.

I've been playing with various survey software packages for producing diagrams and analysing the data.

I'm starting work doing a full survey of Poachers as its just a short walk from my house and is a manageable size as a first project.
